'Zoorassic Park' Opens September 23rd at Binder Park Zoo

Trips to Binder Park Zoo just got a little cooler for kids starting Thursday.

Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek is a pretty cool place to take the kids. I took my daughter there a number of times when she was growing up. The Twiga Overlook, where you get to feed the giraffes at their height was always our favorite spot. Now there is a new exhibit for the kids to check out.

The much-anticipated opening of Zoorassic Park is coming up this week. The new exhibit will open to the public on Thursday, September 23rd. After a long renovation, guests will now be able to see life-size dinosaur replicas at Binder Park Zoo.

What life-size dinosaur replicas will my kids be able to see?

The new Zoorassic Park will feature the following dinosaurs:

Triceratops
Spinosaurus
Tyrannosaurus Rex
Stegosaurus, and more.

Are there hands-on experiences for the kids to try?

Yes. The kids can become paleontologists-in-training and will be able to dig for fossils and velociraptor remains in several areas around the exhibit. Oversized puzzles with unusual facts about dinosaurs will be available for the kids along with the chance to climb on a prehistoric snake called titanoboa, and more.

When is the zoo open and how much does it cost?

Binder Park Zoo is open every day from 10 am until 4 pm through October 24th. Admission to the park includes free entry into Zoorassic Park and the prices are as follows:

Adults - $14.75
Seniors 65+ - $13.75
Kids 2 to 10 - $12.75
Kids 2 and under - Free

Binder Park Zoo is located three miles south of I-94 at Exit 100.
