A Brand-New Michigan Lottery Game Already Has Its First $1 Million Winner
It didn't take long for a Michigan resident to snag the top prize in the Michigan Lottery's newest instant game. A Macomb County man has become the first $1 million winner playing the new Cash Train scratch-off.
A Second Ticket Led to a Life-Changing Prize
The 73-year-old says he's "set for life" after scratching his way to a million-dollar win. Ironically, this wasn't his first winning Cash Train ticket. When the game debuted, he bought one and won $50. A few weeks later, while cashing in that prize, he decided to try his luck again.
“I bought a Cash Train ticket when the game first came out and won $50, so when I was cashing out at the party store a few weeks later, I bought another ticket,” said the lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous.

At first, he thought he might be imagining things.
“I scratched all the numbers on the ticket first, and once I was done, I scratched the winning amount. As soon as I saw letters instead of numbers where the prize amount was printed, I knew I won big! I started shaking and couldn’t believe it was real," he told the Michigan Lottery.
Where the Winning Ticket Was Sold
The winning ticket was purchased at the Country Party Store on Greater Mack Avenue in St. Clair Shores. Rather than planning a lavish celebration, the winner said he'll save the money, adding that the prize has left him "set for life."
