The  Dream Cruise was scheduled for Saturday, August 15h. Fans of the event have known for months there was uncertainty on if the Michigan summer favorite would still go on. Organizers feel strongly that the choice to cancel was the right thing to do considering the current situations."The Dream Cruise is the largest car event in the world, but there is not a cure for COVID-19, there is not a vaccine," said  Woodward Dream board president Michael Lary. "We have to be responsible for the we, not the me."

Even though the main event is canceled, reports say the inaugural Woodward Dream Show, a gathering of the best of the cruise at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, is still scheduled to go on in August.

The cancellation of the Woodward Dream Cruise comes less than a week after Flint's annual Back to the Bricks canceled their main events and activities due to the coronavirus pandemic.
