Legendary Michigan Car Show Named One of the Best in America
If you've got a soft spot for classic rides, roaring engines, and the nostalgia of American automotive history, you're in luck, because Michigan is the place to be. It's only fitting the home of Vehicle City and the Motor City would also be home to one of the best car shows in the country. Not only one of the best but one of the Top 10.
The best shows coast to coast draw car enthusiasts together yearly to share their passion and love for the ultimate "toy". According to a new ranking in USA Today’s 10 Best, one of Michigan's favorite summer events has been named as the cream of the crop.
With hundreds of these specialty shows across the country, it's pretty impressive that one is right here in the Great Lakes State.
"Some auto shows look to the past in celebration of classic cars, while others set their sights on the future with cutting edge technology and the latest reveals", USA Today said. "Hundreds of these events take place across the nation each year, so we asked an expert panel to help narrow the field by nominating their top picks for the best. Then, readers voted for their favorites. Here are the 10 best car shows in the country."
Taking the #10 spot is the legendary Woodward Dream Cruise. Considered the world’s biggest cruise, and the largest one-day auto event. The cruise draws in over one million people and over 40,000 classic cars each year to the event. The annual cruise, which started in 1995, takes place in August on the third Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm. This year's cruise will "drive" on August 17th.
Of course, it's an honor to see this amazing show make the list, but those of us in the Genesee County area feel one pretty amazing show has been omitted from the Top 10 again. Hopefully, USA Today will take notice of Flint's own Back to the Bricks and help it find its way to the Top 10 next year. After all, nobody does cars better than Vehicle City right?
