AAA also says the statewide average is up about 1 cent from this time last year. Of the cities it surveys, the auto club says the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel is in the Marquette area, where it's about $3.75 a gallon. The highest average is in the Jackson, Saginaw, Bay City, Midland and Traverse City areas at about $3.94 a gallon.
