Allison Wint says she was fired for using an anatomical word in the classroom. The Battle Creek substitute teacher was let go on Friday (4/22), but tells WWMT that she had no idea saying "vagina" in the classroom would cost her her job.

"Yes, I did say that word, however I was saying it in the context of art history; I wasn't being vulgar," she said.

Wint says she used the word while explaining historical interpretations of Georgia O'Keefe's paintings. But school officials at Harper Creek Community Schools say the sub crossed the line, and violated school policy.

The school released a statement which quotes its handbook, saying that all staff must obtain permission prior to discussing any form of reproductive health with students.

WWMT has more on the story in this video.

Wint says she plans to look for other employment.
