For the second straight year, the Flint Downtown Development Authority is teaming up with bars, restaurants, and Cars 108 for a New Year's Eve celebration and we need your help!

Chris Everson, General Manager for the Flint DDA, says last year the turnout was between 4,000 and 5,000 revelers. A tent was set up in the downtown flat lot and bars worked with the DDA to offer raffle tickets to encourage a downtown pub crawl. This year, bars will again work with the DDA by having no cover charge. The DDA is also setting up a larger, heated tent again in the flat lot. The festivites will run from 9 p.m. until midnight and Cars 108 will broadcast live. Party goers will have a chance to win a trip for two to Las Vegas and when the clock strikes midnight there will be a fireworks display.

Also, the DDA is looking for volunteers for the event. They are asking community, non-profit and charitable organizations to volunteer. The DDA will donate $5 to each organizations cause for each hour worked per volunteer. Some of the positions include ID checkers and beer/wine servers. For more information, or to volunteer, please email ceverson@flintdda.org.
