Heading to Cherry Festival? Here’s Everything You Need to Know
A Pure Michigan summer staple is back for its 98th year and is expected to be bigger and better than ever. The National Cherry Festival in Traverse City officially kicks off this weekend and has some pretty big names set to take to the skies as well as the Pepsi Bay Side Music Stage.
One of the biggest summer events in Michigan, as well as the Midwest, is set to run from Saturday, June 29th through July 6, 2024, in beautiful downtown Traverse City. This year's attendees will be entertained by some of the biggest musical and comedic acts around as well as one of the most legendary flight teams in the world.
Things will kick off on June 29th with some serious excitement in the sky when the legendary U.S. Navy Blue Angels bring their skill and unbelievable talents to Traverse City for a free air show over the West Grand Traverse Bay.
National Cherry Festival Concerts
Headlining performances for this year's festival have something. for everyone's taste including comedy. Stone Temple Pilots will kick things off on Saturday, followed by a special benefit concert featuring Fresh Horses, a Garth Brooks Tribute act, and The Insiders, a Tom Petty tribute band.
Bret Michaels is set to rock the stage on July 1st with special guest Jefferson Starship followed by comedian Leanne Morgan. On July 3, the Goo Goo Dolls will bring their hits to the Pepsi Bayside stage with the 4th of July welcoming country star Dylan Scott. Finally, comedian Gabriel Fluffy Iglesias will bring the laughs to TC on Friday, July 5th with The Accidentals and Joshua Davis.
If music isn't your thing, then look to the sky! The National Cherry Festival's Air Show on June 29 & June 30 from 1 pm to 4 pm Festival fans can enjoy the free airshow from the beaches and shorelines of West Grand Traverse Bay.
