The baseball pundits say that Oakland has great pitching.  The Tiger hitters would concur.  They could only manage to score once yesterday in a 5-1 loss to the Athletics.  That one tally came on a Casper Wells solo homer late in the game.

Starter Brad Penny struggled again for the Tigers, and is now 0-2 on the season.  Detroit's record falls to 7-9 after this latest loss.  They head to Seattle for a game late tonight (10 pm).  Max Scherzer gets the start for Jim Leyland's club against the Mariners.  A couple of wins there would be nice.  After three games in Seattle, the Tigers come home for a series against the Chicago White Sox.

This Tiger team looks strong on paper, but too many times this season they've looked to be about as strong as paper.  Still time to regroup!
