It wasn't pretty by any means.  It was a win and hopefully the first of many for the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers earned their first win of the 2011 season by a 10-7 score over the New York Yankees.  Miguel Cabrera hit a pair of majestic 2-run homers and Brennan Boesch had 4 hits, scored four runs and drove in 4, including a moon-shot 2-run homer into the upper deck.  Max Scherzer worked a gutsy five innings to pick up the win.  Jorge Posada of the Yankees also reached the seats twice.  Mark Texiera and Robinson Cano also homered for the Bronx Bombers.  Texiera hit a home run in each of the three games against Detroit, Tiger pitchers will no doubt be happy to not face him again for a while.

The Tigers play the Orioles today at Camden Yards in Baltimore.  First pitch at 3:05 pm.

Go Tigers!
