It was 78 degrees in Baltimore, but the Tiger hitters left their lumber in the icebox against the Orioles.

After scoring ten runs yesterday against the Yankees, the Tigers could only scratch out a single run against the O's, and ended up falling by a 5-1 score.  Tiger starter Rick Porcello looked pretty good for the first 4 innings but couldn't get anybody out in the 5th.  They could have sent the hot dog vendor up there and he would have reached base.

The Tigers get a day off to lick their wounds ( and maybe take some BP?) before taking on the 4-0 Orioles again on Wednesday and Thursday nights.  Detroit's home opener is Friday afternoon at Comerica Park against the Central Division leading (as of this posting) Kansas City Royals.

This team has plenty of firepower, but needs to start showing it in road games.  Manager Jim Leyland is in the final year of his contract and is hoping for an extension.  If the team doesn't start winning some games away from home, he might be lucky to keep his job through the end of this season.  While it's too early to panic, a couple of wins before we get home would sure be nice.
