Third Grader Gives Bald American Dolls to Kids With Cancer – The Good News
I'll tell you this - I wasn't doing anything this charitable when I was in third grade.
Bella Fricker, a 9-year-old girl from Georgia, is the founder of Peace Love Bracelets. She sells homemade bracelets to pay for bald American Girl dolls to give to kids with cancer. Her mom says that she got the idea last fall, when four children in their community were diagnosed with cancer. She says that Bella really took notice of this, and wanted to share her love of American Girl dolls.
She has turned her playroom into a workshop, and has sold over 500 bracelets. She's given dolls to the kids at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and she hopes to continue her efforts with children at St. Jude's.
They're also on the way to becoming a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
