There’s an Online Petition to Change the Date of Halloween
Because we don't have enough important problems right now, yeah?
My son was talking yesterday about his Halloween costume - I did the math in my head and it's really not that far away. Halloween is on a Thursday this year, but there are about 58,000 people who have signed an online petition to change the official date of Halloween to the last Saturday in October.
Which is ironic, because that would make it a floating holiday with no "set" date.
Anyways, the Halloween Industry Association has a petition to change the date to the last Saturday, citing the number of kids who are injured while trick-or-treating in the dark.
I don't quite understand how this would change that fact; even if it's on a Saturday, most places will still have evening trick-or-treat times. And frankly, I'm not ready to talk about Halloween anyways. IT'S JULY DARNIT.
