"I'm grateful I got to orbit Connor's world for a brief time."

It's nothing new; we see it all the time: actors, actresses, and other celebrities meeting their biggest fans through different charities. Most, if not all, make it a memorable experience, especially when it's a charity for children with cancer. But this one is different.

Ryan Reynolds met 13-year-old Connor McGrath through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Connor has been battling cancer for the last three years. Ryan brought a rough copy of his film Deadpool to Canada to watch it with him.  "There were still huge sections with wires we hadn't yet painted out, jokes which weren't working (and still aren't) and green screens. Connor didn't seem to mind. And I'd never felt luckier to get to be Wade Wilson."

Reynolds admitted that Connor had that special "something," and that they'd frequently exchange texts. The entire message might make you cry, FYI. Somebody's definitely cutting onions in our studio this morning.

Nicely written, Ryan. Any celebrity can meet a child with cancer and make their day, but you made a friend.
