"l've been stolen from, and for somebody that has challenges or special needs it's even more devastating, so I just told her, 'Don't worry, I will make sure you get a bike.'"

Sylvie Pelesasa, a bus driver in Seattle, Washington, noticed recently that one of her passengers was without her bike. Lori Hiles, who is partially deaf and has special needs, always has her bike with her...except for today. When Sylvie asked her what happened, Lori started to get emotional.

"She started crying, 'Somebody took my bike. I can't understand why they would take my bike,'" Pelesasa told KING5 News.

Lori used the bike to ride to and from church, and to her volunteer job at Goodwill. The bike had been outfitted for Lori's needs, and it struck a chord with Sylvie. "l've been stolen from, and for somebody that has challenges or special needs it's even more devastating, so I just told her, 'Don't worry, I will make sure you get a bike.'"

She collected donations online and from Goodwill, and $400 later, purchased a new custom bike for Lori.  "There she stood with her new bike waiting for the bus to show up. She kept saying, 'I'm so happy ... I love my bike. Thank you, thank you for my bike.'"
