Don't confuse Mr. Siegel with a mobster who went by the same name. When you first hear of Benjamin Siegel, you may think of the man who was a legendary organized crime boss and founder of Murder Inc., often credited with the development of the Las Vegas Strip.
This Benjam Siegeinl was a talented businessman who moved to Detroit in 1881 and began managing the women's apparel department at a clothing store on Woodward Avenue. His talents led him to purchase the store, which became known as the 'B. Siegel Company.'
The store was well-known for selling upscale women's and children's clothing as well as being a major player in the furs and sild stocking trade.

The Benjamin Siegel Home is a 'grand limestone masterpiece' according to the listing, featuring an 11,103-square-foot main home, complemented by a 1,303-square-foot carriage house.
