There are several Memorial Day ceremonies, celebrations and parades scheduled all over Michigan. The same will go for Independence Day and Labor Day. But there are many other crazy, fun and outrageously ridiculous events all over the Great Lakes State that attracts partygoers from all over the country and the world.

So in addition to the traditional reasons to celebrate, like Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day and even the day before Thanksgiving. Michigan has a rich history of unique celebrations statewide.

The list of these unusual festivals is huge, but here are some that really caught our eye. In the middle of June, check out the Mackinac Island Great Lakes Pirate Festival.

July events include the Michigan Elvis Fest in Belville, the National Baby Food Festival in Freemont, and the Michigan Bacon Festival in Lansing. Also happening in July is the the Yale Bologna Festival and Vanderbilt's Yoga Festival.
