Son Remembers Robert Gaines from Gaines Jewelry in Facebook Tribute

90-year-old Robert Gaines, the founder of Gaines Jewelry here in Genesee County, has passed away after a battle with cancer

He served in both WWII and the Korean war, and then went on to open the local business here in the Flint area in 1963.

His son David remembered him in a very thoughtful Facebook post yesterday, saying that he taught him "how to golf, how to fish, how to be a dad, just how to live."

Funeral services are currently being planned.
