Rock’s Mark Farner Bringing Show Back Home to Flint’s Capitol Theatre
He was one of the first major acts to sell out a concert the newly renovated Capitol Theatre. Now, Flint's own Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad fame is heading home once again.
Farner returns to the Capitol Theatre on January 28, 2022. The former Grand Funk Railroad frontman returned to the Vehicle City back in April of 2019 to celebrate his 50 years of making music, and took the stage to a sold out show. Farner performed with his Mark Farner's American Band along with The Guess Who.
Still one of the best, if not the best, rockers to come out of the area, it was back in 1969, that Farner formed Grand Funk Railroad along with Don Brewer (drums) and Mel Schacher (bass guitar). The band enjoyed great success through the 70s with iconic hits like "Some Kind of Wonderful", "I'm Your Captain", "Bad Time" and more.
Now, fifty plus years later, he commands the stage with the same intensity performing those epic hits and has been out on the road rocking out across the county, and the world. Even through his travels, Farner has kept his hometown, and state, close to his heart. Farner started the Mark Farner's Mid-Michigan Flood Relief last year to aid those victims of the Midland area floods as a way to help fellow Michigander's going through a tough time.
His return to the historic Capitol Theatre is sure to be another incredible night, and you won't want to miss out.
