Located in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, this community staple has the very best signature cocktail.

Every once in a while you find a restaurant that makes a signature dish that keeps you coming back for more. Maybe it's a burger, tacos, or wings. In this case, it's a Long Island iced tea. Not just any long island, the best freaking strawberry Long Island that I've ever had in my life.

The Palace Restaurant and Saloon in downtown Sault Ste. Marie has been serving the community for over a century. Yes, they've been around for over 100 years, not many establishments can make a statement like that. It makes sense though, they are located in the oldest city in Michigan.

My fiance is from the Soo and took a group of us there for the I-500 Snowmobile Race back in February. While we were there, we stayed at an Airbnb that was within walking distance from The Palace Restaurant and Saloon. We literally went there every day just to get a taste of their amazing flavored Long Islands. Specifically, their strawberry Long Island. I don't even like Long Islands but this thing is from another world.

After coming home, we tried to make them ourselves only to be disappointed with every attempt. We've gone to other bars and restaurants hoping they could make one as good as The Palace but again...nothing but disappointment. I don't know what they're doing up there, but they're doing it right.

The next time you're in the Soo, head over to The Palace Restaurant and Saloon and order a strawberry Long Island. Trust me, you'll thank me later. Oh, and be sure you get an order of their soft chips and Chili Con Queso. It's the bomb!
