There are roughly 30 homes in Michigan designed by the late Frank Lloyd Wright and this stunning home in Kalamazoo just hit the market for a little under $1.9 million.

About Frank Lloyd Wright

If I asked you to name the first architect that comes to mind, Frank Lloyd Wright's name would likely roll off your tongue. He's credited with designing over 1,000 structures during his lifetime and his influence on other designers throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.

In Michigan, the design GOAT is credited with creating a community of Usonian homes in Kalamazoo known as the Parkwyn Village. According to the Robb Report, Wright also designed four of the five homes in the Acres, located in nearby Galesburg, Michigan.

His designs can arguably be called quirky, as you'll see in the photos below. Wright's homes often incorporate numerous custom built-in cabinets, storage areas, and seating areas and you'll see that this design is very much reflected in the Winn House below.

The Winn House in Kalamazoo

The Winn House was designed by Wright for Robert D. and Winifred L. Winn in the early 1950s. It was the last home built in the prestigious Parkwyn Village.

This 2,400-square-foot slice of history features three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. By today's standards, the kitchen area is small. But the home's open floor plan and built-ins offer plenty of space for entertaining.

According to the listing,

"The Winn House features Wright's hallmark open floor plan, expansive windows, and custom-built furniture, creating a luminous and inviting space that blurs the lines between indoors and outdoors."
