Fearing that their lives were becoming stagnant, an Ohio couple turned to something unusual to revitalize their marriage:  Their love for Cedar Point.

Brady Wertz and Caitlin Ackley turned their love the amusement park and its carnival games into a social media business, growing their TikTok audience to more than 1.4 million viewers.

Pair Gives up Regular Jobs to Become the 'Cedar Couple'

Wertz and Ackley had been working as an Aerospace and Dental Assistant respectively. They tell Cleveland's News 5 that they were going through a bit of a rough patch and decided it was time to make a change.

"We just became stagnant, and we had a talk and said I don't want our life to be work, come home, do nothing. So, let’s shake it up," Wertz says.

Wertz says he has special skills when it comes to playing carnival games. He made it his mission to learn how to win those games and teach others how to do it on TikTok.

They started the 'CedarCouple' channel in September 2021 and note that they struggled with every aspect of the adventure in the beginning. They tell Canvas Rebel that in the CedarCouple's infancy, they would work all day and then spend hours each evening streaming videos and building a following.

The couple says it took 28 days to gain their first 1,000 followers. But after months of hard work, Caitlin was able to give up her full-time job in 2022. Brady gave up his job in 2023 and the couple began devoting all their time to CedarCouple.

Viral Success on Social Media

Today the couple is enjoys success on multiple social media channels including, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. They have won multiple awards for their live streams but their favorite accolade is their 'Ticket of a Lifetime' which they received from Cedar Point.
