They are the most precious and most fragile victims in our community. The children that walk through the doors of Voices for Children have experienced the worse reality anyone could imagine. These are our youngest victims and Voices for Children is their safe haven.

Providing a safe place for abused children to tell their stories is what  Voices for Children Advocacy Center (formerly Weiss Child Advocacy Center) does every single day.  They are there offering a friendly environment, with a single certified trained staff that can compassionately listen, examine, and ask all the necessary questions to start the road to healing for these children that have been victims of sexual and/ or physical abuse.

Children who arrive at Voices for Children often do so with just the clothes on their backs and nothing more. Last year over 600 new children walked through their doors. Having something to all their own may even seem foreign to them. Now that is about to change with a project called the Pantry of Love.

The passionate brainchild of local philanthropist Kimberly Gray, Angie Hendershot of ABC-12,  and Cheryl Sclater, Public Relations Manager of ELGA Credit Union, the Pantry of Love will be stocked with those necessities needed for those at Voices for Children.

From toiletries, personal care items, undergarments, clothing, formula, diapers, and even bed sheets, the "pantry" will be stocked and available to each child. The needs of the children, although simple to most, will be met.

Providing emotional support and resources for so many is a task in itself, and Voices for Children President and CEO, Nyse Holloman is touched by the project that will benefit them in so many ways,

"The Pantry of Love will help us make sure that when local children are in crisis they have the basic supplies and care they need to feel loved and to start healing", she said.
