A new anti-marijuana ad in Michigan is drawing some sharp criticism for playing into negative stereotypes around weed.

The "I'm You In Ten Years" ad shows a younger man playing video games high, and then a ten year older version of himself pops out like some sort of weed genie.

The older version starts to talk about how dangerous using marijuana can be, and not so subtly plays into the common stereotypes. Including weight gain from the munchies, and just not being so smart. These are obviously the same jokes that movies have been making for years, but it's odd to see it coming from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

This obviously isn't going over so well considering Michigan was one of the first states to legalize marijuana for both medical and recreational purposes.

ClickonDetroit talked to both sides about the ad. Weed advocates are pointing out the misconceptions in the ad, while the state is standing behind it's argument. Watch the video below and let us know if you think the ad should continue to run.
