NBC-25 Is Changing Frequencies — What Viewers Need to Know
WEYI-TV (NBC-25) is making a big change that could impact how you watch TV in Mid-Michigan.
What the NBC‑25 Frequency Change Means
Station officials announced Wednesday (Dec. 3) that NBC-25, currently broadcasting on digital channel 25.1, will soon move to a new frequency. Beginning Dec. 10, NBC-25 will begin broadcasting on channel 66.2.
The shift will place NBC-25 on the same “parent frequency” as its sister station, WSMH-TV. Locally known as Fox-66, that station occupies channel 66.1.
How Does the NBC-25 Frequency Change Impact Viewers?
Viewers who watch NBC-25 using an over-the-air antenna will need to complete a quick re-scan on their TVs to continue receiving the station.
Those who receive NBC-25 through cable, satellite, or streaming services such as Spectrum or Xfinity will not need to take any action and should not notice a change.
