Mott Community College to Host Short Film Showcase
A free, short film showcase is being held at Mott Community College next week.
The Third Annual Media Arts & Entertainment Technology Short Film Showcase will feature films ranging between 10 and 16 minutes long that are created from start to finish by students. This includes script writing, securing licensing, sound, lighting technology and editing. This year's showcase will feature five short films in addition to one documentary.
Students in the MAET program "learn real skills they can apply to working" on real productions according to Dave Rembiesa, assistant professor and coordinator of Media Arts & Entertainment. Rembiesa pointed out that some of the programs graduates have worked on large moves such as Batman versus Superman: Dawn of Justice and Transformers 4.
The Third Annual Media Arts & Entertainment Short Film Showcase is being held on Monday, September 8th and begins at 5:45 p.m. in the Regional Technology Center on Mott's main campus in Flint. It's free and open to the public.
