Despite the heavy snow that came down in Flint and Genesee County overnight, it didn't really stop us in our tracks.  While many schools to the north and west of Flint were closed due to the weather, Genesee County schools for the most part stayed open.

The main problem that we experienced was power outages and lines down.  This may have caused some powerless traffic lights, but there were not nearly as many accidents as there were last Wednesday.

Heavy rains on Tuesday night turned into black ice just after 7am when the temperature dropped below freezing.  The sudden change took it toll on the morning commute last week.  This morning, there were just a few accidents more than usual.

Consumers Energy continues to work on restoring power to the 1,900 customers here in Genesee County, and the 42,000 without power statewide.
