She's also the wife of a Kalkaska police officer.

Eva Gray has started making teddy bears out of retired police officer's uniforms to give to children that have been involved in traumatic situations. The bears take about two-and-a-half hours to make; their bodies are made out of pants, their coats are made out of retired shirts and buttons from coats are used for the eyes.

They are then given to children who have been involved in car accidents, or family trouble. The lieutenant for the Kalkaska police department says that these children are often scared of the police when they arrive, and the bears are given to them to calm them down.

The idea originally started when her husband, who is a police officer as well, came home and said that the department was trying to figure out how to use old uniforms.

Well done, Eva!
