Michigan Tow Truck Drivers Travel to Pay Respects to Fallen Colleague
They say that they're all family - it's a brotherhood.
41-year-old Thomas Tripp, who worked at Mike's Wrecker Service in Saginaw for over 15 years, was tragically killed by a drunk driver while loading a car onto his truck. His service was this past Saturday, and tow companies showed up from all over the state to show their respect.
Not only did colleagues show up, but the service was standing-room only, with many of his past customers showing up. One woman said that she found out about it because, when he had towed her car, he gave her his cell phone number for future emergencies.
Saginaw County Sheriff's Lieutenant said that tow truck operators put their lives on the line just as much as any other first responders. And obviously, it showed at Tripp's funeral. Rest in peace.
