Michigan Siblings Hold ‘Protest’ Against Vandalism – The Good News
And, dare we say, it's the cutest protest EVER.
Last Wednesday night, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office and WWMT, several businesses and streets in Texas Charter Township were vandalized with expletives about Governor Whitmer and the BLM movement, including spray-painted "All Lives Matter" messages.
Police are investigating the vandalism and are reviewing security footage.
Meanwhile, proving that kids are NOT oblivious to everything going on in the world, 8-year-old Eleanor and her 6-year-old brother Ezra told their mom that they saw something in another neighborhood that was "mean" to Black Lives Matter and asked their mom what they could do to help.
So, the kids made signs and stood out on the street on Saturday morning to show their support, and it really is the cutest "protest" that we've ever seen. Other parents and kids joined the protest in front of one of the buildings that were vandalized.
When the local news station asked Eleanor why it's important to be kind, she said, “So that we don’t hurt anybody’s feelings.”
Adults, take note. These kids are KINDER than we are. And why? They have LESS life experience than we do. And they already know to be kind to each other. This should be a wake-up call to ALL of us. Maybe we need to sit down and re-visit some episodes of Sesame Street WITH our kids, no?
UPDATE: the vandalism has been cleaned up by some good samaritans. Thank you!
