Michigan Shelter Dog Saves Toddler Found Barely Alive and Freezing [VIDEO]
A former shelter dog gets the credit for saving the life of a three-year-old girl, who she found naked and barely breathing in a ditch near her home.
Peanut, whose owners say is ordinarily a calm animal, began barking uncontrollably, and running up and down the stairs Friday (3/17). When they finally let her out, her sixth sense took her to a field near their Escanaba home, where they found the girl.
According to CBS, the girl was shivering uncontrollably in the freezing temperatures. The family called 911 and was able to take care of the toddler until medical personnel arrived.
“By the time the ambulance and police arrived, the little girl could only say one thing -- ‘doggie,’” the dog’s owner explained in a letter to the Delta Animal Shelter, where they adopted the dog last April. “Thanks to Peanut, a little girl’s life was saved.”
