Michigan Prisoners Raised $2,000 for ChadTough Foundation – The Good News
Inmate James Adrian said, "Even though we are guys in prison we still trying to do our part."
Prisoners at the Robert Cotton Correctional Facility in Jackson, Michigan got together and raised $2,000 for the ChadTough Foundation over the weekend.
The foundation began in memory of Chad Carr, the son of former Michigan quarterback Jason Carr (grandpa is former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr). He passed away in November of 2015 from an inoperable brain tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).
One of the prison employees brought the idea of a virtual 5K (where you run 3.2 miles from wherever you happen to be) to the inmates, and they wanted to participate.
On Saturday, 136 prisoners and three leader dogs ran a 5K around the grounds and raised $2,000 for the foundation.
