According to KENS5, their 8-pound Yorkshire Terrier, Renzo, somehow got out of the car. The owner says she’s not even exactly sure how it happened. One moment he was there, the next Renzo was gone.

By the time she realized it, she had already driven away. She turned around immediately, rushed back to the rest stop, but Renzo was nowhere to be found.

Now instead of a vacation in Florida, this family has been spending their days driving around, putting up flyers, talking to strangers, and posting online, just hoping someone has seen him.

They believe someone may have picked him up, thinking he was abandoned or lost, not realizing he already has a family desperately searching for him. And they’re not leaving. They’ve made that very clear. They are staying in Florida until they find their dog.

But here’s where it gets even worse. On top of everything they’re dealing with emotionally, they’re also being targeted by scammers. Fake sightings, AI-generated photos, even people calling and demanding money. So now it’s not just heartbreak, it’s frustration too.
