The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will be filling about 1,300 seasonal park worker jobs for the upcoming spring, summer, and fall seasons. On top of that, the DNR will also be looking for over 50 people to fill positions as season park rangers.

What are some of the details of these jobs?

When it comes to the 1,300 seasonal park worker positions, those jobs will be available in the state parks, state forest campgrounds, boating access sites, and harbors. The positions include frontline staff that help visitors, clean buildings, register campers, do lawn maintenance, maintain Michigan's trails, and more. These positions have a starting pay between $10.20 and $11, offer flexible scheduling, and may qualify for academic or internship credit.

The seasonal park ranger positions earn between $18.29 and $25.70 per hour, receive state employment benefits, and help carry out day-to-day operations and other essential duties.

Seasonal park worker requirements include:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • To provide name, email, phone, and desired work locations.

Seasonal park ranger requirements include:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Complete a State of Michigan employment application.
