Now there's something you don't see every day!

Messages in a bottle are like unicorns, aren't they? You hear about them but you'll probably never find one...unless you're Gary Hendrickson.

He found the elusive "message in a bottle" on the Gulf Coast of Florida over Memorial Day weekend...and it was from Michigan. When he pulled the piece of paper out, he noticed that it smelled like bourbon.

The note was written and tossed into Lake Michigan back in 1995. It said:

'Hello, June 16, 1995, Frankfort, Michigan, I've tossed this bottle into the water to bring joy to anyone who finds it, this whiskey bottle was full a few short hours earlier, if you find this call me, and I’ll buy you a drink.’

Here's the kicker - Gary texted the number and IT WORKED. Not only that, but it belonged to the guy who originally sent the message. The two men have been in touch and have surmised that the bottle made its way to Florida through the Mississippi River. No word on whether or not the sender is going to buy Gary a drink or not. ;)
