Anybody that knew McKenna Schummer knew she was destined to do something amazing and leave her footprint on the lives of many. After going through some of the darkest and trying of times battling osteosarcoma, 11-year old McKenna Schummer found her passion for make up. Sadly she lost her courageous battle March 6, 2018,  but her legacy lives on.

In honor of McKenna, Mckenna's Beauty Bar was created to help other children at the hospital where she received her treatments feel that normalcy of feeling special. Now, thanks to the passion of McKenna's mother Mellissa, and the team known as McKenna's Squad, the Beauty Bar along with the specialty beauty boxes have made their way into many hospitals in Michigan and even Ohio.

Specialty beauty boxes are filled with goodies and make up that are delivered to patients in or out of the hospital fighting their own courageous battles.

In order to keep the mission of providing a little bit of McKenna's magic fundraising for items it’s crucial. These boxes truly do make a difference in the lives of those they touch and that's the reason this year there’s a very special event planned for Make a Difference Day.

Make a Difference Day, March 6 McKenna’s Squad will be hosting a 5K virtual race. can help make a difference in Mckenna's legacy  by becoming a race sponsor. Make A Difference Day 2021 5K race is looking for sponsors for 3 levels of sponsorship.

If you would like to become a sponsor for the virtual 5K on Make a Difference Day, contact Melissa Schummer at (810) 577-1095 or email her at McKennassquadbeautybar@gmail.com.

If you would like to register for the race you can do so here.
