11-Year-Old Grand Blanc Student McKenna Schummer Has Died

Such a sad story that the entire community has been following for a couple of years now.

11-year-old McKenna Schummer, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2016, has gained her angel wings.

McKenna was in the process of creating a beauty bar for Children's Hospital of Detroit for other cancer patients. Through her treatment (and like most girls her age), she found a passion for makeup and wanted to share it with others who are fighting the same fight. A local salon even held a makeup drive recently to collect donations.

It was posted on her Mckennassquad Facebook page that her weekend had not been good, and was announced last night that she had passed. Rest In Peace, McKenna. You fought a great fight.
