May is ‘Get Caught Reading’ Month, What Pages Are You Turning?
May is National Get Caught Reading Month. Reading is a great way to entertain and educate yourself, and if you are a regular visitor to your local library branch, it is something you can do for FREE.
Libraries not only provide books for all ages and reading levels, but many make computer access available to their patrons, CD's, DVD's, books on tape and many other services. Most also have live entertainers, talks with authors, storytellers and activities for children.
So visit your local library and take yourself away to new places with a good book. Studies show that parents that read have children that also become readers. Set a good example. Better still, read to your kids!
You can visit some or our many local libraries through the internet. Flint Public Library www.fpl.info/
or the Genesee District Library www.thegdl.org
