The Good News: Saginaw Officer Reads to Kids on Days Off [VIDEO]
When he's not on the clock, he brings his favorite books to local schools to share with the kids.
Saginaw Police Detective Reggie Williams visits Saginaw-area elementary schools on his days off and reads to children, to help them trust and "like" local members of law enforcement.
"I like to do anything I can to foster and develop those relationships, and I have my entire career," Williams said.
The principal of Merrill Park Elementary School, Lisa Tran, says, "It gives them hope and shows them the possibilities out there. It's a chance for them to see a police officer in a positive light."
Hey Saginaw! I want to thank Arthur Eddy, Chester Miller, and Merrill Park for helping me enjoy my day off! I really enjoyed reading to your classes. I look forward to my next visit.
