Is Livonia, MI Really Getting its Own Popular Portillo’s Restaurant?
Most Michigan fans of the world-famous Portillo's Italian Beef are used to traveling for it.
They opened a location in Sterling Heights in 2021.

Now, Michigan's second Portillo's location will be coming next year.
What is Portillo's?
Think Italian Beef sandwiches that can be served "dipped," or wet... dripping with gravy. Or dry, if that's not your thing.
It's the flavor of their beef sandwiches that makes them legendary.
They start with fresh baked bread, pile on the slow roasted beef and top it with homemade oven-roasted sweet peppers or giardiniera peppers.
The sides are always on point, too.
Whether you crave crinkle cut fries or the onion rings, get the spicy Giardiniera sauce for dipping.
Hot Dogs and Burgers, too.
Since the place originated in Chicago, you can imagine they serve a great hot dog, too.
We're still not sure how the relish gets that strange electric green glow.
The burgers are crafted from the same quality beef on the Italian sandwich, too.
Portillo's second Michigan location is coming soon.
Livonia will be home to the second Portillo's location. Crain's Detroit Business reports it'll be located near I-96 and Middle Belt Road.
The new restaurant will feature:
- space for 175 guests indoors
- a patio for the warm months with capacity for 50 customers
- double drive-thru lanes
It sounds like the company is big on expanding in Michigan. Consider this our request to get one on the west side of the state and Mid-Michigan, please.
