Rest assured, however, it WILL be happening in 2020.

For the seventh year in a row, the folks at Krystal Jo's Diner in Flint will be holding their annual free bike giveaway. Last year, over 1,200 kids received bikes in Genesee County, thanks to their annual event.

Normally, people are encouraged to drop off bikes at Krystal Jo's Diner to owner Tony Tucker around this time of the year. In fact, we dropped off a bike a couple of years ago. Tony and his crew fix up the used bikes and then give them to kids in Flint for free.

Obviously, with the COVID-19 outbreak, things are a bit different this year. We talked to Tony on the show this morning; he said that there is no definitive date yet for the giveaway but, when there is, he'll let us know.

He's teamed up with Americorps to do the bike giveaway at Flint Northwestern this year. People will have to register online and stop by to pick up a bike by appointment.

THEY ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING BIKES FOR THIS YEAR'S GIVEAWAY.

Tony was injured while he was junking the bikes at the scrapyard; he slipped on a trailer and dislocated shoulder. He's hired three people to help him restore the bikes that they already have.

There's also a GoFundMe to help with costs - you can donate to that by clicking HERE. Do it soon; it will likely be shut down by this weekend.

If you'd like to donate physical items, they need helmets this year. You can also help by sharing posts from the Krystal Jo's Diner Facebook page.

Thank you, Tony, for all that you do! Heal fast!
