The world of late-night TV was big news Wednesday as the worst kept secret in showbiz was confirmed by NBC, who gave the official word that Jimmy Fallon will replace Jay Leno as 'Tonight' show host in 2014.

Leno took a quick jab at David Letterman, quipping that he had to call the 'Late Show' host in order to "tell him he didn't get the 'Tonight' show again." Ouch!

“I want to congratulate our good friend Jimmy Fallon,” Leno continued. “He is a hell of a guy! He’s going to do a great job. I just have one request for Jimmy: We’ve all fought, kicked, and scratched to get this network up to fifth place, now we have to keep it there!"
