Michigan Veteran Receives $50K on The Tonight Show – The Good News
Pass the tissues for this amazing single mom, please.
Vernitta Love is a veteran of the Air Force and a single mom from Detroit. She served for 26 years, and her son Aaron nominated her for Home Depot: Operation Surprise. The program presents veterans with $25,000 for home repairs.
Aaron said:
"She’s retired, but at the same time I don’t know anybody more selfless than her. She gives to the homeless vets in our area and is always trying to do things in the community. I entered her in the contest because her house is home, but behind the scenes it’s a wreck."
When Home Depot heard her story, they decided to double her prize to $50K. *sniffle* Thank you for your service, Vernitta.
