Michigan Man Wins $1 Million on Lottery Ticket Another Customer Passed Up
A Wayne County man won big on a Blazing Suits instant Michigan Lottery ticket after another customer asked to buy the ticket, but then changed their mind.
The old saying 'you snooze, you lose' definitely fits this situation. The customer who decided against buying the ticket ended up missing out on a $1 million prize.
The winning ticket was sold at Fawaz Petroleum LLC on Schoolcraft Road in Detroit. According to Michigan Lottery Connect, the 33-year-old winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, noticed the $10 ticket set aside on the counter and decided to purchase it.
I scratched the ticket off and couldn’t believe it when I saw it was a $1 million winner! I never would have thought I’d win such a large lottery prize, so it’s truly a blessing.
I’ll say. I can’t imagine how disappointed the person who passed on that ticket must feel now (if they even know). Missing out on a $1 million winner has to be a tough pill to swallow.
The lucky winner chose to receive the prize as a one-time lump-sum payment of about $693,000 and plans to save the money.
From time to time, I will see someone buying a lottery ticket and feel inspired to grab one myself. It always seems like a little sign nudging me to take a chance. Unfortunately, at least so far, my gut feeling has not turned into millions.
But hey, there is always next time.
The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $740 million, and the next drawing is scheduled for tonight. Here's to winning big.
