The festival theme this year is Western; for the first time in many years, kids play free. That includes the bounce houses, skating park, and games area.

If your kids get wound up, you can pay to put them in jail for a small fee (I am not kidding). When I spoke to a woman at the Imlay City Chamber of Commerce, she jokingly suggested kids put their parents in jail. Of course, this is all fun, and you might even want a break from your kids. Just make sure they have money to bail you out.

The Imlay City Summer Fest is Friday, August 11th, and Saturday, August 12th.

The festival happens in downtown Imlay City with a majority of events at Lamb-Steele Park along Third Street in Imlay City, Michigan (48444).

What events are happening at the Imlay City Summer Fest?

The festival features a parade, fireworks, a car show, live entertainment, and more. Here is what you can expect to see and do at the Imlay City Summer Fest,

• Pet Parade (Western themed - Friday 7:00 PM, registration 6:30 PM)

Is the Imlay City Summer Fest free?

The event is free to attend. Guests are responsible for food and drink purchases, and any other miscellaneous items and ticketed activities.
