After a 25-year-hiatus, the event is returning to Flint.

Shouldn't be too hard to get Genesee County pumped up for this - the All-American Soap Box Derby is coming back to Vehicle City on June 8th. Registration is open until May 1st and car kits will be available soon for participants.

The first races were held in Ohio in 1934, and Flint came in 1936. The races were originally held on Cadillac Street and moved behind Southwestern Academy in 1969. The track was called Cronin Derby Downs. This year's races will be near Chevy Commons.

Racers will be divided into two age groups: 7 to 14 and Super Stock for racers age 9-18. Goyette Mechanical is sponsoring all racers at no cost.

Can. Not. WAIT to watch this!!!
