Is This An Offensive Test Question? [PHOTO]

One mother complained about it, also claiming that it had "racial undertones."

In Charlotte, North Carolina, high school students were given a biology quiz that included this question:

One of the students' mothers was so offended by the question, which she says has "racial undertones," that she sent an email to her child's teacher. You can read the teacher's response HERE via WNEM.

Yikes! I'm not an easily offended or sensitive person, so I can't say that I'm "offended," per se. But I definitely think this question should have been worded differently. I know people are super over-sensitive nowadays, but is this REALLY the only way to word a question in a biology quiz? What do YOU think?
