It's incredible...we CAN get along! 

As you may have heard, the Republican headquarters in North Carolina was firebombed and vandalized over the weekend. This comes as no surprise, considering how divisive this election has been. But, nevertheless, it's totally uncalled for and shameful.

When I first heard this, I said to myself, "Great. Let's just hate each other more now." Imagine the shock when I read this headline this morning:

Democrats Raised More Than $13,000 To Reopen A Firebombed Republican Office

That's correct. Zeynep Tufekci, who works at the of University of North Carolina’s School of Information Science, tweeted the idea of Democrats raising money to help rebuild the office. And then, David Weinberger of Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Technology started a GoFundMe page.

And it worked - over $10,000 was raised in 40 minutes. Now, I'm sure that people will have bad things to say about this, but for once, I'm content with the outcome. It's not fun when half the country is fighting with the other half. I like it when we can all get along. :)
