ESPN pulled the plug on Hank Williams Jr.'s intro song for Monday Night Football after the country singer made an analogy to Adolf Hitler in discussing President Barack Obama. In an interview Monday of Fox' News, Williams likened the Obama outing with House Speaker John Boehner: "It'd be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu." ESPN noted that while Williams is not an employee, he is still closely linked to Monday Night Football based on his, "Are You Ready For Some Football", opening.ESPN commented that they were "extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight's telecast.
