It's not often you can associate good news with the auto industry and Flint, but GM officials are planning "a positive news announcement" for the Vehicle City on Monday morning.

First, the Flint Assembly Plant added a third shift back in January. Now, the news apparently will get better. GM has scheduled a news conference Monday morning to announce it will invest about $300 million in the facility so it can produce the next models of the Silverado and Sierra full-size pickup trucks, a company source tells the Associated Press. Last week, GM said it will invest $2 billion in 17 facilities over the next 18 months -- looks like a significant portion could be headed to Flint!
